Contract Research is important for the University because not only is it a source of additional income but it also helps to market our Human Resource capabilities and helps in creating a vital link between Industry, Government and Non – state sectors / Civil Society. The University currently is embarking on capacity building to ensure that the necessary competencies are built in the needed areas.
As part of capacity building in Contract Research, the School of Research and Graduate Studies has secured funding under TALIF to organize a workshop on Technical and Financial Proposal writing for Academic Staff – this is to help build a strong resource base in terms of Contract Research.
Currently, the Research Administration Department is updating its database of on-going Research Projects in the University. This is to complement the work of the Research and Conference Committee as a similar task is being carried out. This, when compiled, will clearly show the output from these researches and help in marketing the University as to our capabilities as not only an Academic establishment but also a Research Institution capable of competing for National and International Research Projects. |
